EMPOWER stands for Equipping, Mentoring and Providing Opportunities for Women in EntrepreneuRship! We believe in empowering women, especially single moms, to become self-sufficient, confident individuals, and community leaders. We desire to help vulnerable women receive the skills required to break out of the poverty cycle. We also encourage gathering together for fellowship, friendship, Bible study and support. At the present time we offer sewing/tailoring classes including reusable sanitary pad making, soap making and business seminars.
Our classes are currently being offered in Fort Portal, and in the Soweto slum in Kampala. These women live in harsh conditions with little hope. However, through learning new skills, their hope is renewed! They are very enthusiastic learners and their spirits are brightened at the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families. If you would like to support our EMPOWER program, a $100 donation provides one woman with vocational training, a sewing machine, and start-up supplies. Thank your support!
